It’s Tuesday! Which means it’s time for our first “Ask Lathered” blog post! Our first question comes from one of our lovely clients in Calgary, AB! Lisa’s question is:
“What scents do you always use to make my house smell so great?!” -Lisa
Well Lisa, the divine scents you are smelling all come from our secret weapon; our all-purpose spray! We use this spray on just about everything!
We already have a blog post up about everything we carry in our [incredibly efficient] cleaning kits here, but as a friendly reminder, our all-purpose spray is:
- 2 oz. of 99% Rubbing Alcohol
- 5-6 drops of your choice of essential oil
- The rest of the [20 oz.] bottle warm water
Our all-purpose spray is incredible and so easy on the lungs. We definitely recommend adding it to your cleaning supply closet!
Our Spring & Summer Scent
For summer, we are absolutely OBSESSED with lemongrass essential oil! Seriously, no other essential oil compares when it comes to making your home smell deliciously fresh and clean!
FUN FACT: Bugs actually HATE lemongrass! There are tons of recipes out there for natural lemongrass bug spray! What a great alternative to citronella!
Our Fall Scent
For fall, we makeour own special Fall essential oil blend that our clients L-O-V-E!
It’s a spicy mix of:
- equal parts CINNAMON & ORANGE essential oils
- 5 to 6 drops of EUCALYPTUS oil
Did you know… Eucalyptus essential oil is effective for treating cold, cough, running nose, sore throat, asthma, nasal congestion, bronchitis, and sinusitis. Eucalyptus oil is antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and decongestant in nature! So, the more the merrier when those pesky Fall colds come knocking!
Our Winter Scent
For our Winter season, especially around the holidays, we like to use peppermint essential oil in our all-purpose spray! It really adds that extra Christmas-ey feel to the houses we clean and clients love it!
TIP: If you find peppermint is too strong for you, try spearmint essential oil instead! It has the same properties as peppermint, just a slightly more subtle scent to it!
We want to answer your questions!
